(October 20, 2015) — The results are in and the week eight winner of the LoCoSports Football Pick’Ems sponsored by Cheers Sports is Pops from Leesburg! Pops went 8-0 in week eight, beat all of the local experts and will take home a gift certificate for a free meal at ResQ Grille! Woodgrove Baseball from Round Hill and TomTy from Leesburg are tied for the lead in the season-long Pick’Ems competition with records of 63-14. Coach Gasser from Sterling placed second in week eight, turning in a 7-1 record and missing the final score of the Game of the Week between Stone Bridge and Broad Run High Schools by only 11 points. Loudoun Valley High School senior Drew Hunter and Heritage High School sophomore Weini Kelati have solidified themselves as two of the best – if not, the two best – high school runners in the country. Madison was a four-year varsity player and senior captain of the Spartan softball team when she unexpectedly passed away after contracting Neisseria Sepsis — a blood infection related to meningococcal meningitis.
