Sterling, Va. — Heritage High School senior Eli Newman shot an even 72 at the VHSL 4A West region championship on October 4 at Algonkian leading the Pride (298) to the team title and a berth to the VHSL 4A state championship on October 10-11 at The Tradition Golf Club at Stonehouse in Toano. Loudoun Valley High School junior Ryan Hammer led the field at the VHSL 4A West region championship, shooting a 2-under, 70, earning the individual region crown. Many found themselves on opposite sides of the line against former teammates from their time in Ashburn Youth Football.
