Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Park View High School junior Kelly Herrington as the Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for January 2018.
To start the new year, Herrington placed second in the blue division of the 17-team Park View Invitational on January 6 with an all-around score of 33.550.
“Kelly is the first high-level club gymnast to be on our team in a long time,” Park View head coach Kaitlyn Simmons said. “When the rest of the girls see her practicing and competing, many of them are inspired to try new skills that they otherwise would have been too scared to try. She is able to demonstrate skills that the coaches are no longer able to do.”

“When it’s crunch time and we’re preparing for the district and region meet, Kelly is incredibly focused and wants to do whatever she can to improve her score,” Simmons said. “This is an excellent example for the other gymnasts on the team.”
The Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month is selected from nominations based on student-athletes having a great team-first mentality, hustle, work ethic, attitude and heart.
All athletes and teammates of the month are invited to Power Train for a free month of training.
