Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce John Champe High School junior Sade Adeyinka as the Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for August 2017.
Adeyinka is the Lady Knights’ vocal leader on and off the court. As John Champe’s starting setter, she has responded well to in-game adversity and has rallied her team back when they got down early in the season.
“Sade is very competitive and pushes herself and her teammates to give 100% all the time,” John Champe assistant coach Lindsey Coltogirone said. “When the team is in a rough spot during practices or games and no one else knows what to say or do to turn things around, you will see Sade’s passion for her teammates and the game shine through.”
[adrotate banner=”6″]With her team off to a 3-2 start in 2017 – and after finishing 4-16 in 2016 – Adeyinka and the Knights have a challenge in front of them. Starting September 12, John Champe enters play in the ever-daunting Potomac District when they travel to Sterling to tango with the 2015 VHSL 5A State runner up Potomac Falls Panthers.
“I always catch Sade giving her teammates advice or picking them up when they are down with her determination to succeed. She is able to turn up the intensity of the team’s gameplay without clashing with her teammates,” Coltogirone said. “And she is great at providing comic relief, never losing focus of the task at hand.”
The Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month is selected from nominations based on student-athletes having a great team-first mentality, hustle, work ethic, attitude and heart.
All athletes and teammates of the month are invited to Power Train for a free month of training.
