Ashburn (September 22, 2016) – Tuscarora High School freshman Michael Brennan led the field at the Conference 14 Championships on September 21 at 1757, shooting a 1-under, 71 as the Huskies won a playoff against Stone Bridge High School to earn Conference 14’s second spot in the VHSL 5A North region tournament.
Briar Woods High School claimed the the Conference 14 team title as Falcons junior Skylar Sload (76) and senior Patrick Gilbride (79) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the championship round.
Stone Bridge senior Abby Bloom was the only golfer other than Brennan to shoot par or better at 72 as the Bulldogs finished third after a playoff with the Huskies. Bloom – along with Stone Bridge senior Matt Kapusta, Broad Run freshman Mason Sergi and Potomac Falls freshman Ray Ellingwood – earned an individual berth to the VHSL 5A North region championship.
