Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Potomac Falls High School senior Abby Asuncion as the Power Train and LoCoSports Athlete of the Month for September 2018.
In the month of September, Asuncion helped the Panthers to a 6-1 record, their only loss coming at the hands of Loudoun power Heritage on September 5.
“Abby is such a talented athlete due to her ability to quickly react to any game situation,” Potomac Falls head coach Cathie Shapiro said. “Abby’s ability to dribble the ball through many players is unmatched in Loudoun County.”
[adrotate banner=”6″]During the month, Potomac Falls outscored its opponents 26-9, with Asuncion leading the way scoring 18 of the 26 goals. But what makes Asuncion truly stand out is her ability to lead her teammates on and off the field.
“She’s co-team captain and positively impacts the team by mentoring the newer players, always having a positive attitude,” Shapiro said. “She’s able to assess the situation in any game and encourages the entire team to play above and beyond in all situations.”
The Power Train and LoCoSports Athlete of the Month is selected from nominations based on student-athletes having great success, hustle, work ethic, attitude and heart.
Power Train invites all athletes and teammates of the month to either of their Loudoun locations for a free month of training.
