Loudoun County, Va. – In an effort to better recognize student-athletes who positively affect high school sports in Loudoun County, Power Train and LoCoSports have teamed up to announce Tuscarora High School rising senior Amber Douglas as the Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month for June 2018.
What makes Douglas stand out is her dedication to her team both on and off the field. She steps into whatever role she’s asked to and competes with unmatched intensity.
“Amber’s dedication to the program both on and off the field shows in everything she does,” Tuscarora head coach Bridget Bowles said. “She is an extremely hard worker that bleeds black and blue through and through.”
[adrotate banner=”6″]After falling to Stone Bridge in a Potomac District tournament semifinal, Douglas and the Huskies battled their way through the VHSL Region 5C tournament, eventually claiming the region title, 7-1, on June 1. Then on June 5, Douglas entered a VHSL 5A State quarterfinal against Halifax County as a pinch runner, scoring one of the Huskies
“Amber positively impacts the team by always having a team first mentality,” Bowles said. “Her dedication, hustle, positivity and ability to overcome adversity show through and through in everything that she does.”
The Power Train and LoCoSports Teammate of the Month is selected from nominations based on student-athletes having a great team-first mentality, hustle, work ethic, attitude and heart.
All athletes and teammates of the month are invited to Power Train for a free month of training.
