Leesburg (Feb. 7, 2015) – Loudoun Valley High School junior Helen Sternberg and freshman McKenna Magoffin were the driving force behind the Lady Vikings’ Conference 28 gymnastics title in Leesburg on Feb. 4.
Loudoun Valley – and the John Champe High School Lady Knights who placed second – earned bids to the VHSL 5A South region tournament at Deep Run High School on Feb. 14.

John Champe junior Hallie Nichols edged Sternberg by three-tenths of a point to win the individual all-around Conference 28 title including first place finishes on the beam and floor.
Nichols, Sternberg and Magoffin will all represent Loudoun County at the all-around at the VHSL 5A South region meet.
In the vault, John Champe sophomores Sydney Suter and Kaylee Buffkin, Rock Ridge sophomore Gabrielle Gaddi, Loudoun Valley junior Kaitlyn Conklin and Loudoun Valley freshman Kristin Colantonio all earned VHSL 5A South region berths.
In the uneven bars, John Champe sophomores Sydney Suter and Kaylee Buffkin, Loudoun Valley juniors Bria Lloyd and Elise Miller and Loudoun Valley senior Katie Mendenhall all earned VHSL 5A South region berths.
In the vault, John Champe sophomore Kaylee Buffkin, Loudoun Valley junior Kaitlyn Conklin and Loudoun Valley freshman Kristin Colantonio, John Champe junior Nicole Qreitem and John Champe freshman Taylor Rentz all earned VHSL 5A South region berths.
